Mika Karhu

Mika Karhus (f. 1969) konst kommenterar samhället, våra värderingar och vår livsstil. Hans verk tar ställning på ett rakt och direkt sätt, men de är ändå mer än bara illustrationer till en övertygelse uttryckt i ord; de undersöker en politisk övertygelse och olika alternativ på ett erfarenhetsmässigt plan som undandrar sig verbalisering. Karhu analyserar hur en människa genomsyrad av konsumtionskultur, militarism och en illusion om autonomi desperat försöker glömma sin kroppslighet, sin dödlighet och den sociala konstruktionen av sin erfarenhet.
