Katrina Neiburga

Katrina Neiburga on yksi tämän vuosikymmenen huomattavimmista latvialaisista taiteilijoista. Hän yhdistää dokumentaarisen fiktiiviseen. Hän muovaa henkilökohtaiseen kokemukseen perustuvia kertomuksia, joissa hän käsittelee universaaleja asioita kuten yksinäisyyttä tai rakkautta. Toisaalta hänen kertomuksistaan voi löytää viittauksia naisten sosiaalisiin rooleihin, kulttuurihistoriallisia viitteitä tai nyky-yhteiskuntaan kohdistuvia kriittisiä kommentteja.

Taiteilija hallitsee suvereenisti videoilmaisun kielen, jota hän täydentää erikoisesti muotoillulla äänimateriaalilla. Lopputuloksena on yllättäviä ja herkkäsävyisiä tarinoita.
