Mika Karhu

Mika Karhu’s (b. 1969) art comments on society, values and the way we live. His works speak out and take sides. And yet they are more than just an illustration of a verbalized conviction, but also an investigation of political conviction and of various alternatives on an experiential level that avoids verbalization. He analyses the desperate attempts of the human individual permeated by consumer culture, militarism and the illusion of autonomy to forget the social constructedness of his corporality, mortality and experiences.
