Born 1965 in Kuopio, lives in Helsinki.

Antique artefacts play an important, dominant role in Paavo Räbinä's installations. Each object in them is a semiotic sign with its own historically attuned message and ideological reference. The seemingly chaotic process of change in ideas and values of recent years has frequently been his source of inspiration. Ideologies come and go, the future is unknown – history, which is open to interpretation, is always present.
